The private playtest for Legends of Ater is now live, and that changes a lot for us. The game is no longer only being tested on our side: it is starting to run in conditions closer to reality, with players, dedicated server connections, longer sessions and, of course, issues that do not always appear during local development.
The goal of this phase is not to show a perfect version. It is to check the foundations: can players join properly, does the server behave well enough, are the first gameplay loops understandable, and what problems appear when someone discovers the game without having spent months inside the project.
What we are focusing on first
- Dedicated server and Steam connection stability.
- Blocking or annoying bugs during the first sessions.
- Early-game readability: objectives, pacing, combat and resources.
- General game-feel feedback, especially anything that lacks clarity or impact.
We will move through small updates instead of changing everything at once. The priority is to keep building on a reliable base, then improve content, balancing and comfort step by step.
Next step
In the short term, we will sort through the first feedback, fix the issues that really block the experience, and prepare a new test build. If things go well, the private playtest can then expand gradually with more players.
Thank you to everyone following the project and to those taking part in the tests. Even small pieces of feedback are useful at this stage: they help us see what actually works in-game, not only on paper.
